Loop 6 is a complex constructive period. Although there are quite many examples of note-diminution - especially towards the end of the period - the main note operations in this period are note-additions. The rhythmic density basically remains the same through the period, using mainly 32nds and 16th triplets. However, the length of every sequence is raised, with the climax in length occurring at bars 205-210, at about the 2/3 point in the period. At the end of the period, the sequence is cut in half, resulting in motif 6. Dynamics evolve first in decrescendo from forte in bar 194 towards pianissimo. From this pianissimo, dynamics build up to fortissimo in bar 219 at the beginning of motif 6. Accents are added to enhance the structure and direction of the constructive period. The phrasing only indicates 1/2 pedal, except for the last measure with the main motif, which has a full pedal. The melodic curve evolves from the quite fluent main motif to the extremely capricious remainder of the period. Between measure 198 and 218, the order of the notes is scrambled. The process here is too random to label it as a “rotation”.
