Although there are a few note-additions in this period, the tendency in general is to have note-diminution towards the residue in measure 37-38. The rhythm is augmented (32nd quintuplets in bar 28 become quintuplets and 16ths in bar 34) and further enlarged in measures 35-36 by filtering out some notes in a gradual diminuendo. Dynamics evolve in diminuendo from fortissimo in measure 28 towards pianissimo in measure 37. The filtering described above enhances this diminuendo at the end. Accents are filtered in or added in measure 28 and measure 35-36 to bring out the internal structure. Nothing is changed in the phrasing. The melodic curve evolves from the fluent superimposed dual curves in measure 28 to a very capricious ending of the period in measure 37-38. In these last two bars, the tempo is lowered from 63 to 50 bpm.
